Best quality 12 gauge boxlock extractor side-by-side shotgun made
in 1881 by Westley Richards. A second set of barrels were added by
Westley Richards in 1895. The original barrels are made of damascus
steel and are 27 1/2” long and choked improved cylinder in both
barrels. The second set of barrels are also constructed of damascus
and are 30” long and choked modified and full. The gun and both
sets of barrels were nitro re-proved about 10 years ago in London
and has been only test fired since that time. Both sets of barrels
were re-browned in London at that time. Both sets of barrels have
only a single under lump which is typical of early Westley Richatrds
shotguns. The action has full coverage scroll engraving and has not
been brushed or refinished and has an attractive patina.
The gun weighs 6 lb 11 oz with the 27 1/2” barrels and 6 lb 15 oz with the 30” barrels.
The stock has a pistol grip and is constructed of nicely figured walnut with a length of pull of 13 5/8” to a red Silvers type pad; the stock appears to have been refinished years ago.
Gun is cased in a beautiful oak and leather case complete with oil bottle, cleaning rod and accessories.
Priced at $6500

This shotgun was re-stocked by Marten Hagn using nicely figured Euoropean walnut which has a length of pull of 14” to a black Decelerator recoil pad. The stock has a semi-pistol grip with flat top checkering. The action and barrel were rust blued at the time of stocking and the gun has been used sparingly since that time.
